Here Goes It….

 This is ultimately going to be cut way … WAY… back from my initial idea for this post. For one, I don’t need to make this my thesis. It’s just us guys hanging out. Two, I don’t have the physical or mental capacity to dig a hole to China with all the facts… which means that I’m not even going to put specific scripture. You can look them up if you want to go down a rabbit hole but I’m gonna try and knock this out in a reasonable amount of time and it’s just not possible to do from inside the rabbit hole.

So, remember that I was skeptical of the fact that no pastor would veer off into the “ You know what? I don’t know the answer to that.” Which I was desperately looking for…. HONESTY. Not some Post It Note bullshit they’d been taught to wiggle out of the hard questions. It made me feel like they were A) liars B) too egotistical to admit they didn’t know C) treated people as if they were so stupid that they’d just swallow some bullshit excuse for why the BIBLE refers to more than one God.

Put no other Gods before me? Whom might those God’s be? 

The Jews worshipped a female counterpart to God whose name is Ashera.

God told the Jews to tell everyone that it was him who parted the Red Sea not any other God. 

I spent my entire childhood listening to Bible thumping evangelicals yelling about the rapture and scaring me so badly that even as an adult I’d call my grandparents to see if they’d answer the phone so I knew that I hadn’t been “Left Behind” how fucked up is that?

Next Christianity had only one true competitor for believers IE: Money and Power. And that was Paganism. 

So, Christianity absorbed Paganism…. Some examples : Christmas, trees, lights, Yule logs, gifts etc.. Halloween, costumes, truck or treating, Easter , bunnies, chicks, eggs, communion, funerals, burials etc…. In fact so much of Christianity is Pagan/Wiccan that one could easily call Christianity, Paganism. Here’s a link:

Here’s me

 On Monday my son and I got an uber, I think I mentioned that my car was totaled by hail…. Anyway, I splurged and got a really nice one, like hello, I’m a kardashian…. And I took him to the spa. He did not want to go. He had it in his head that it was going to be like People Soup…. But he LOVED it! We loved it! Had the best time. He’s good. My husband picked us up but, ugh, we did not want too. We have our favorite pools and he liked them best too. They play jazz music and you can just hear all the water falls. The funny thing is that I can see Plano out from my balcony, this is on the opposite side of what we can see, so, very close to home but also 30 minutes away because their is no straight connection. Both my husband and Josh like the pool where you can see the view of the city and at night, it’s stunning. Also helped my wrist! For the time we where there… My wrist is not good.  Ok, I have so many like really deep conversations that I’m just gonna get out of my system with you all. You good with that? Cool… I’m 57 years old and I realize that it’s way too late to be going through a midlife crisis but I am! I’m like,” I hope they come out with that third season pretty soon do I can see it before I die” I’ve decided that I probably have 10 good years left. TEN YEARS. It keeps me up at night!
