I’m starting to add items on now. I got derailed for TEN HOURS Yesterday by rewriting all of my headlines and taglines for something like 90 items? Plus making a commissioned piece. Plus doing the photography…I’m not gonna lie. I was not having the best time but here’s what happened…. Long story short this man offers to help me to add in search words to my titles and tags. He shows me one that he would change, he does the entire thing. I went in and did ALL the rest, this one’s a snappy little learner and I also knew what was coming next…. He wants me to pay him to do it. Now, I’m good with a side hustle. Good for him. BUT, I’d already picked up how to do it so…. Felt a little bad but not bad enough to pay him to do the same thing I took four hours just doing….

So a week in the hospital and I met a nurse who walked into my room. Stood at the door looking at me and said  “Girl, You’re a clairvoyant, aren’t you? I can get a good feeling or a bad feeling off of people” she’s walking in now, “ And I know when someone knows things. You’ve been struggling with your religious views, I know, you don’t have to tell me, you’re on the right path. Can you turn off your feelings in the hospital? Some can’t.” I answer… I acknowledge that someone has died in this room. Probably many. That’s just facts. Then I put it away. Not like if I visit a historical site, you turn it way up high for that” she said , “ There you go. My daddy owns one of the largest Black History Museums in the Country. It’s alive with those feelings.” I said “ You mean fear, anger, grief?” She answered “ A lot of grief.”

Then she spent most of her shift hanging out with me and my husband. He’s used to my “ quirks” so not shocked there but holy shit shocked that that was how we met her.

Had a lung therapist tell me that when he was three years old he was walking up his stairs talking. When his mom came up behind him she saw all his toys floating in the air and they dropped as soon as she saw it. He said he’d been talking to his “ imaginary friend” And as his mother tells the story of the “ haunting” they moved four months later because she was too afraid to live there. I was told that aliens are fallen angels which got us talking about the Nephilim, which the Bible says were half human half angel and giants who considered themselves Gods. Which led us to Pyramids and Incas and Mayans and back around to cryptids, I told him that chupacabra’s are fake. Made up in Puerto Rico. He was bummed but said he’s seen Bigfoot.

Another nurse stayed in my room for two hours to talk about politics, religion, guns, Japan ( I know!), self defense, demon possession( ya!) and he missed the nurses change over!

Had a lung therapist tell from India tell me that he wants to be ruled by a king because then people don’t have to “worry” about things…. Told him to consider moving back since he’s in the wrong place for that. He hates Chinese people which was the 2nd care giver to tell me that. Says they visit Japan and shit in the streets ( huh?).

Heard about drunk underage children and how they puked the night before, had a lovely lovely young woman who let me give myself my injections and asked me so many questions about all the things in the world and that was fun.

Had a nurse refuse to give me a medication because it was in the same class as the one that violently tried to choke me to death. Threw it in the garbage, called the doctor and said, No, Ma’am!!! You do it. Went to doc’s supervisor! Saved my life.

The emergency room nurse who walked out of a tv show. Swagger, floppy hair, I don’t give a fuck how I look, I’m here to save lives, damn it! Who killed me and brought me back to life in less than five minutes and the shock and despair that covered his face made me want to hug HIM!

But when he came up to my floor a week later, EVERY young nurse clutched their pearls and my nurse got the admired position of him being there for HER patient which she called “ the sweetest thing ever. Omg he’s so kind. We never see him on our floor! Omg, giggles, I bet he was told that you were here… I bet he was!” I knew he was because someone from the ER came to give me my 11th IV ( I’m a tough stick) he recognized that it had been me in the ER and we talked about said nurse and said to tell him thank you…. I didn’t tell her that. I just let her be so adorable!!

So there you go! My advice is to talk to everyone. The young men who did food service were funny and bright and honest about being up all night with a girl they liked or how old their grandma is!

It’s the silver lining.
