Maybe wrap this up?

You never really know. I’m chatty so while I hope to wrap up this crisis of faith today, we’ll see….

Real quick trip back to Paganism…. Also, witchcraft….Back in the day…. Like WAY WAY back in the day there were people who practiced magic. In fact there’s a lot of people who still do and even call themselves witches. Now, let me clarify, no actual “witch” was killed in the witch hunts. The people who were killed were healers, midwives, scientists who studied alchemy and had the first of the modern apothecaries in “modern times.” The former is still used today in modern chemistry and psychology. The latter still used and integrated into modern medicine. Those practices and some ancient Egyptian spells for everything from luck to death were incorporated in some darker sects of paganism and Wicca. They wrote books about their beliefs and spells. Those are called Grimoires and they are still around to this day.

Ok, phew, all that to say that catholicism had a real problem with this because it competed with the Catholic Church for… Money. So, what they did about that was to declare witchcraft evil and have Grimoire burnings. Oh, I forgot to add that the church was also upset that Catholics were also owning Grimoires and practicing magic…. So feeling guilty and scared that they’d go to hell they’d bring their books and burn them.

It frustrated the church that eventually Catholics would return to the practice of magic so the church announced that there was good and bad magic…. Good magic was healing spells, love spells, luck spells etc and bad spells which would include sickness, death, retribution etc… so they’d have another book burning. And the process would continue. SO!!! No stranger to stealing from Pagans the priests would secretly write and SELL Grimoires. So they were making money from magic and then they’d have another book burning and sell another Grimoire. Hear me out… The church members practiced magic and the leaders provided it like crack.

When I asked about that I was told “ We’re not Catholic and catholicism is a cult.” By the way, that is still believed to this day.

Next…. The Bible has been edited hundreds of times. From the councils in Rome who took out any women leaders and encouraged slavery and taking over neighboring tribes to not only enslave them but to kill the men and use the women and children as they saw fit as they were their plunder. They instructed slaves on how to behave and slave owners as well. King James ( Yes, as in the King James Bible) had the Bible edited and rewritten to read that divorce was able to obtain under certain conditions. He wanted a divorce. Martin Luther ( the founder of the Lutheran sect of Christians) did the same and many many more. Books were removed. The Book of Mary and the Book of Enoch and several more. If you look at king James and a catholic bible there are differences in the books.

Yet, it’s indoctrinated into every Christian that the Bible is the infallible word of God. How is this even possible when men changed the Bible to gain power and wealth? A loving ( ps: God wasn’t viewed as loving until the New Testament) God would have his word used to create great divides amongst God’s people? To stir hate, bigotry, misogyny, judgment, egos, great wealth ? But doesn’t it say that it’s easier for a poor man to get into heaven than a rich man through the eye of a needle? Jesus thought that hate of a gay person was so important that he NEVER spoke of it. NEVER. Love thy neighbor like yourself. What you do to the least of them is what you do for me… like taking free lunches from schools???? How they’ve vilified gay people…Doesn’t really seem to fit, does it.

John 3:16 says that ANYONE who believeth in Christ shall not parish but have everlasting life. But! Matthew 7 21-23 says that God will decide if you go to heaven even if you’ve cried out “ Lord Lord” and there’s no other way but through him deciding.

So…. John 3:16 is false? That verse is the literal foundation of Christianity!!! Every four yr old already knows that verse!! Ask that question and the answer you get sounds like what a pile of spaghetti noodles looks like. Pastors HATE that these two verses contradict each other. Without John 3:16 being true and God just randomly chooses who goes to heaven, despite how faithful they are, despite their acts, then it seems more like a lottery and less like the Faith they need us to have to keep sitting in those pews and the money that brings in. Reminder, organized Christianity is a business. Period. Polls today show us that less people identify as not just Christian but of all religions. Hmmm, I wonder why?

The Faith of a mustard seed….

Matthew 18-20 And Jesus said unto them, “Because of your unbelief; for verily I say unto you, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, ‘Remove hence to yonder place,’ and it shall remove. And nothing shall be impossible unto you. ( witchcraft?)

My grandparents had these best best friends who were in construction. Really wealthy. Both married. One of the wives got cancer. I saw her standing in front of our church, which was The Assemblies Of God that my grandparents had “ planted” ( that’s what it’s called when you start a church) telling us that she wasn’t going to go through treatment because she had the Faith of a Mustard Seed.  She died a slow agonizing death. I couldn’t grasp that. How can that be possible? The BIBLE says that all she needed was that minuscule amount of faith.

The reason I was told? She must not have had faith. WTF!! She turned down treatment. She fucking had FAITH. How condescending. How judgmental. How un- Christ like.  How fucking scary, that’s how I felt that. I thought, holy shit! I guess I’ll never even have that much faith if it’s so hard that SHE didn’t have it!

Ok, I’m done for today…. The next one will be the last!!! I promise -ish!!!

Love the photo. Just realized that we were pregnant at the same time…. Me with Mi-ya and you with your oldest.
